For the first time ever, the Spokane Waves Aquatic Team placed
in the top three at the Inland Empire Championships.
Every swim counted…literally.
In a meet where over 4000 points were scored, we beat out
the 4th place team by 1.5 points!!! That means one very
simple thing—every time a SWAT swimmer moved up a spot or
touched someone out, they gained 1 more point for the team. EVERY RACE MATTERED! Great work at IE
Champs, it was truly a team effort.
Our team of 38 swimmers swam 154 best times, set 22 individual
team records, and broke four relay records. Our total team
points averaged out to 17.25 points per swimmer—we nearly
doubled our points scored per swimmer from last year (9) and scored
more points with fewer swimmers! Great work; it’s been a
fantastic year so far and I can wait to see how we do at Shamrock
and the Sectional meets.
