SWAT Coaches lead Whitworth to
8th consecutive Men’s NWC title, and the Second
Title in three years for Women.
Our coaches took the weekend off
from coaching to swim at the Northwest Conference Championships, at
the prestigious King County Aquatics Center. (Photo is a picture of

The women’s contest was
close the entire weekend, Whitworth ending up winning the meet
793-753 (40 points!).
Our very own Christina Hinkel scored in all three of her individual
races, helping the Pirates wrap up a perfect season with the
3rd conference title in the last 16 years.
Coach Quinton and Rory both had
great meets, leading the charge for the Pirates in their
8th conference win in a row, 9th of the last
10. Coach Rory placed
2nd in the 50 Fr, 4th in the 100 Fly, and won
the 200 Breast with an Automatic NCAA Qualifying time. As of right now, he has the
fastest 200 Breast time in the nation for Division III
swimming. Rory’s
swim was also a team and NWC record, great job Rory! Coach Quinton had a fantastic
meet in his Senior year, winning the 100 Breast with an Provisional
Qualifying time; that swim coming right after he placed
2nd in the 400 IM with another Provisional Qualifying
time. On a side note,
Quinton got to finish 1-2 with his brother Kalen (a summer SWAT
swimmer) in the 400 IM. He also finished 2nd
in the 200 IM.
Overall, our coaches swam great,
helping Whitworth have one of the best years it’s ever
had! Great job this
year, and thanks for all the help coaching!
