We are starting
2010 right where we left off 2009—having fun and swimming
incredibly fast! Make sure you take the
time to read the January
Storm Recap. We have a lot coming
up in the next few weeks—here is what’s
happening:
Winter Invite—January 30-31; Ellensburg, Washington
Entries for the Winter Invitational in
Ellensburg will be due next Tuesday; please check the Events &
Meets section of the website to sign up. We highly encourage all swimmers going to IES
Short Course Champs to attend this meet. If you need a place to stay,
click here for the link to the hotel block.
Junior Champs—February 12-14; Moscow, Idaho
This is our first team championship meet of
the year! We highly encourage all
swimmers 14 years and younger (even if you are new to the team) to
attend this championship-style event. If you are in the Age Group,
we want you there; if you are a Ripple, please, sign up for the
meet. Entries will be due Tuesday,
February 2nd. Again, this
meet is one of the most important meets of the year—we hope
to see you there! Please click on the
Events
& Meets section of the website to sign up; if you need a
place to stay,

Short Course Champs—February 26-28; Ellensburg,
Washington
Our second team championship requires
qualifying times, and is the premier local meet of the season. We
will be going head-to-head with the fastest swimmers from all of
Inland Empire Swimming. It is at a
fantastic facility, and we’ll be ready to swim fast. Sign up is not available at this time, but
be on the lookout for it.
Heads Up—Swim-a-thon is coming in April!
Our only fundraiser of the year is our
Swim-a-thon, which will be held in April. Be on the lookout for more information as we get
closer to the date!
Training Tip of the Week
The team cannot function without respect for
one another—parents, coaches, and swimmers all need to
understand this concept. Respecting one
another will be something that we do not simply ask you to
do—we will absolutely demand it.
Regardless of age or ability, we are all here to achieve something
together. It’s been proven
countless times that a rising tide will raise all ships. Our tide is a rising, but we cannot have
bullying, name-calling, or other disrespectful actions to anchor us
down. Anchors hindering us from our success need to be addressed
and removed if needed.
Keep up the great work! Championship season is coming up fast! Feel free to let us know if you have any questions
or anything. Thanks,
